HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?
The tattooing of minors act 1969 states it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 therefore at rendition we are very strict when it comes to booking in that you show VALID i.d when you want to book an appointment for a tattoo.
HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY NEW TATTOO?
The first 72 hours after the tattoo procedure is a crucial period in your aftercare, it is important to.
- Keep the tattoo coverd in cling film for 2-3 hours after the session ends unless an alternative bandage
has been used.
- Ensure the tattoo is cleaned with warm water once the bandage has been taken off and stays clean for
the healing process, wash 3-4 times a day.
- For certain pieces it is ideal to rewrap in clingfilm overnight for the first few nights to avoid contact
with bedding and bed clothes, unless stated otherwise by artist.
- By day 2/3 the tattoo will start to look very dry, it is important at this point to apply the aftercare
reccomended to you by your artist (cocoa butter, bepanthen, coconut oil etc, refer to artist reccomendation). Apply thin layers over the clean tattoo 2-3 times a day or as needed, continue to do so for the following
1-2 weeks until the tattoo is healed.
*keep in mind continuing to moisturise indefinetly will help keep your tattoo looking fresher for longer.
- AVOID soaking in water (baths/swimming pools/hot tubs), scratching, picking, sun beds, saunas,
grease/oil, fragrenced soaps, direct sunlight without a high factor sun block, using aftercare products not
recommended to you.
The better you look after your tattoo the better and faster your tattoo will heal!!
DOES IT HURT?
Yes........ however it is a bearable pain and is different for every client.
